Professor Edelman is best known for his work in the field of Sports Law, where he has authored more than 20 law review articles on topics as diverse as the antitrust status of sports leagues, collective bargaining, collusion, commissioner suspensions, intellectual property rights, league-wide age requirements, NCAA bylaws, the right of publicity, and sports stadium subsidies.  A full listing of his publications is available here.

From 2006-08, Professor Edelman was an attorney in the Sports & Entertainment group of Dewey Ballantine LLP where he represented athletes and their unions.  More recently, Professor Edelman has consulted on sports law issues privately for athletes, agents, apparel manufacturers, online sports businesses, and numerous law firms.
